Welcome to Russellville, KY, the county seat of Logan County. Known as “Rogues’ Harbour” and “Big Boiling Spring” to the early settlers, it has held the name of Russellville since 1798 in honor of Revolutionary War General William Russell. The majority of the early settlers came from Virginia and North Carolina. As one of Kentucky’s oldest counties, Logan’s long and colorful history includes four Kentucky governors, famous and infamous heroes, and a legacy of historic sites and events.

Recently it has come to the attention of the Mayor’s office of a fan page on Facebook in which it is stated that it is the “official” page for the City of Russellville.  This page on the social networking site is not maintained by any employee of the city.  The owner of the fan page is currently unknown.  The opinions expressed on that web site are those of the owner and do not necessarily reflect the ideas or opinions of the city government.  The official web site for the City of Russellville is www.russellvilleky.org.  If, at a future date, the City of Russellville creates a fan page on a social networking site, it will be clearly noted on www.russellvilleky.org.

For those of you, or your family members, who have been part of Russellville's unique history, you can now preserve that fact within the heard of Historic Downtown Russellville.  Main Street Russellville is proud to present this wonderful opportunity for your family to remember a loved one or friend, to mark the birth of a child, high school alumni groups, a wedding anniversary, local businesses (past and present), our military or a lifetime achievement through the purchase of a personalized brick.  Each brick will be engraved, per your request, and laid in the sidewalk of downtown Russellville.  This is being done in conjunction with the Main Street Russellville Streetscape project.

You may download a PDF document from here with more information and the request form.
